Legal English Liverpool Street

Legal English School opens in the City of London

Our expert Legal English teachers are regular visitors to the City of London as many of our law firm clients are based here. Ashurst, Hardwicke Chambers, Baker McKenzie, JP Morgan and Gannons are just a few of the law firms and organisations based in 'the square mile' that we have had the privilege to partner with to provide world-class business and legal language training solutions.

What is the City of London?

The City of London is separate and distinct from the London that you know of from television and films. It is considered a city and county in its own right; it has its own mayor (whose role is ceremonial in contrast with London's mayor), police and firefighters.

Three quarters of the 300,000 people who work in the City of London are in professional services such as banking and law. The majority of law firms are based near Temple underground station and Chancery Lane station, although most of our expert teachers work around Liverpool Street as we work with many corporate and commercial lawyers. There are many insurance companies based near Fenchurch Street railway station near Tower Bridge.

Why is it special?

Our Legal English teachers like the area for several reasons. The mix of great bars, restaurants, shops and places to see within a short distance are great. At the weekends, it is blissfully quiet but during the week when many people are walking around a small area it can be difficult to walk with speed.

Our teachers run many courses and workshops in the square mile so it has a special place in the life of Legal English UK.
